What is your passion?

I recently spoke to a 26 year old young man who was trying to find his way through life. He shared his perception of how he saw the world. As much as he claimed to be
happy his words were not congruent with the energy he expanded.

He went on to speak in the programmed language which says there is no hope in the future, there are no jobs, there are no opportunities for young people who’ve left school without qualifications like himself. “When you have hope in the future it gives you power in the present”   On that note I asked

“What are you passionate about?” Immediately a smile came to his face. Passion holds no pretence.
He replied “I love taking care of animals and reptiles they are so much more loving and fun than humans” His language and tone pivoted from animation to lucid joy.

He spoke about the time he spent working in an animal sanctuary and how much he would have loved to continued there and become a Herpotologist. However the voice of limitiation out ruled what was possible for him to achieve. He did not see himself being confident and capable of studying and raising the finances to follow his passion. Instead he gave up on his dream and his passion and chose to live a life of if only.

Your dream and your passion deserves life and energy. Are you willing to let go, discover your true passion and live your life creatively with purpose making a positive difference to humanity?
Letting go gives you all the reasons to grow and discover many unearthed talents you may not even be aware of. Live your passion, whatever has prevented you from heartily pursing your passion today make a decision – this is my gift to the world, someone needs to know about what I am, what value I bring and how I can be of service.

This last weekend I had the pleasure to speak at the Nigerian Women In Diaspora Leadership Forum 2012 in London

It was warming and endearing to be in an audience with women who looked just like me. Women who wanted more for their lives, women who had the same feelings and desire to discover the extraordinary person that lives within and stake their claim on their  true purpose and  passion..

I’ve spoken at various events over the years but there was something intrinsically unique about this gathering of women. To be able to share my story and my passion and see transformation taking place before my very eyes was truly a gift from God. There was a committed listening and hunger for renewal. These women had shown up to give birth to a latent talent.  As each speaker passionately delivered their presentation it became alarming clear 2012 is the year when women are on a precipice of change. Something has been shifted in the mindset of the woman to allow her to see herself as a leader of  the 21st century and to operate and contribute to life from a place of significance leaving a legacy for generations to come.

It is time to implement  strategic change,  put fear aside and stride with pride. I know how it feels to be consumed by fear and diminish the very gift that was meant to bless and heal other’s lives This is effectively the beginning of your renewal process, changing one’s mind and relinqusihing the stories which have only served to sabotage one’s potential and growth.

I could feel  and see from standing at the front of the room the reverbating messages which echoed

“I am a Woman and I am ready to make a change and take charge of my life, honour  my gift and my blessings.“
